Research Interests

Hao Zhang, Associate Professor. 1996–2003: BSc/MSc in Physics, Nanjing University. 2003–2006: PhD, School of Information Science and Engineering, Fudan University. Since 2006, working in the Department of Optical Science and Engineering, School of Information Science and Engineering, Fudan University. September 2009 – August 2010: visiting scholar at the University of Konstanz, Germany. October 2016 – September 2017: visit to Ames National Laboratory (U.S. Department of Energy). Author of over 90 SCI/EI papers in domestic and international journals, including 4 ESI Highly Cited Papers and Q1 articles in journals such as Advanced Materials, and 6 papers in journals with impact factor 10 or above. Reviewer for journals including Chem Rev and AFM.

Research focuses on light transport in periodic and disordered systems, first-principles calculations of materials (especially transport properties of 2D and topological materials), and machine-learning approaches in materials prediction and photonics.
