Ensemble fluorescence and related phenomena of localised electronic states in solids, including the distribution functions of localised states and their roles.

Luminescence quantum properties of few and single semiconductor quantum dots and luminescent colour centres.

Fabrication and quantum optical properties of optically pumped and electrically pumped diamond single-photon sources.

Basic principles of ancient Chinese bronze alloy translucent mirrors.
