Research Interests
Focusing on laser application technologies such as laser micro/nano processing and laser surgery, the research proposes and realises a series of novel laser micro/nano processing methods for optoelectronic materials and devices by exploiting the diverse, interrelated or coupled chemical and physical effects in laser-matter interactions, thereby advancing functional integrated photonic/electronic advanced manufacturing technologies. It further extends to “laser processing” of diseased human tissues for the development of new laser surgical techniques and devices.
The research directions are both cutting-edge and application-oriented, and highly interdisciplinary. Main research interests include:
New principles, technologies and equipment for laser processing and laser surgery
Laser micro/nano processing for micro/nano optical devices and systems
Laser micro/nano processing for laser medicine and other medical-engineering interdisciplinary fields
Laser micro/nano processing for pan-semiconductor manufacturing and chip manufacturing
Image-based sensing and bio-inspired perception assisted by micro/nano optoelectronic devices
Collaboration is welcome from researchers and students with backgrounds in laser micro/nano processing, laser opto-mechatronic systems, micro/nano optics, laser medicine, integrated optoelectronics, advanced packaging, microelectronics, artificial intelligence, mechanical engineering, control, and related fields. Students interested in these areas are encouraged to apply for Master’s/PhD positions or joint training programmes.
