Research Interests

Wang Jun is an associate professor and master/PhD supervisor. He received his PhD in Science from Fudan University in 2019 and subsequently carried out post-doctoral research at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. He has long been engaged in the study of light–matter interactions in optical microcavities and micro-/nano-photonics, with a series of innovative results on quantum control of exciton-polaritons, lasing, multifunctional all-optical devices, and artificial band-gap structures. He has published 31 papers in leading international journals including Nature Communications, Science Advances, Advanced Materials, Light: Science & Applications, National Science Review, Nano Letters, ACS Nano, and Advanced Science, with 15 of them as first or corresponding author, 21 in JCR Q1 journals, and 3 ESI Highly Cited Papers. His work has been broadly recognised by international peers; his publications have received more than 2,000 citations on Google Scholar, with an h-index of 13. As principal investigator, he has led 7 research projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), the Shanghai Municipal Science and Technology Commission, and the Ministry of Education, and as a core member has participated in major NSFC research programmes, key R&D programmes of the Ministry of Science and Technology, and major basic-research projects of Shanghai. He is a recipient of the 11th Rao Yutai Prize in Fundamental Optics, an Overseas High-Level Talent of Shanghai, and a Grand Prize winner of the Fudan University Young Teachers' Teaching Competition. He has been invited to deliver talks at major academic conferences at home and abroad, and serves as a reviewer for international journals such as Nature Communications, Nano Letters, and ACS Photonics.

His research mainly focuses on light–matter interactions in optical microcavities and on micro-/nano-photonics, including:

Macroscopic quantum phenomena, lasing, nonlinear interactions, and the corresponding dynamics of exciton-polaritons

Artificial lattices of exciton-polaritons

All-optical logic devices based on exciton-polaritons

Structured-optics and micro-/nano-photonic devices
