Research Interests

Addressing a series of “bottleneck” technological challenges and major strategic needs of national informatisation development, research focuses on high-speed ultra-high-frequency millimetre-wave/terahertz wave radio-over-fibre (ROF) transmission, data centre optical interconnects, short-reach optical access networks, high-speed coherent optical communications, and atmospheric laser communications. Achievements include real-time design of high-speed communication systems and high-performance digital signal processing algorithms. Based on this research, further work has realised the development of related hardware systems and equipment, including high-frequency millimetre-wave instruments above 60 GHz, FPGA real-time systems for short-reach optical transmission, DSP chips for high-speed coherent optical communications, and integrated sensing and communication demonstration prototypes for 6G.

Selected Publications

Published multiple papers in top journals including Journal of Lightwave Technology, Journal of Optical Communications and Networking, Optics Letters, Optics Express, and Photonics Technology Letters. To date, published over 100 high-level papers with total citations exceeding 1,000. Has consecutively presented academic reports on high-speed optical signal processing at top conferences OFC and ECOC for several years.
